Lost - Kate and Jack (caps from Left Behind)

I cried so much during this scene, because I got these characters and their motivation and just them so well at this exact moment, I could feel Kate’s selfless love for Jack and her pain at seeing that she had just caused him to be left behind, and I could feel Jack’s despair as well as his anger at Kate for having slept with Sawyer, for coming back to get him, for breaking his heart and being so damn sorry about it all. Because it would have been so easy if Kate didn’t care, if she didn’t love him, he would just have had to take off and try to forget about her, but she cared and she came back for him and now she’s so sorry about it all and he just can’t hate her. And she sits there thinking that she doesn’t deserve this man, that he did everything he could to buy her a way out of the hands of the Others and that she just blew his chances of going home away. She sits there and she thinks that, once more, she’s found a very good guy who loves her so much but that she, in her opinion, doesn’t deserve.

These two just break my heart.
